By the time he was sixteen he was signed to Warner Bros/Reprise records, Capital Records and ultimately to the prestigious William Morris agency in New York City. Long before "American Idol" there was "The American Song Writers Festival" a national songwriters competition where Mr. Pereca achieved semi-finalist out of 80,000 song entries. He has appeared or worked with world renowned artists and groups such as The Bee Gees, Melanie, Sha Na Na, Livingston Taylor, Doc Watson, Steppenwolf, Odetta, Janis Ian, John Hammond Jr., Elephant's Memory, Janey Street, Eric Wiesberg, Steve Gadd, Arlen Roth, Hugh McCracken, Richie Havens, Eric Anderson as well as arrangers and producers Jerry Corbitt, Fred Mollin and Ron Frangipani. His music and arrangements have been performed by Melanie, Janey Street, Jerome Lawrence, Donna Fargo and Janis Ian including arrangements and vocals for her Grammy award winning album "Between the Lines". His music has also been performed on the hit ABC television series "Eight is Enough." Always fascinated with just how pianos work, he began to study piano restoration under European master technician, the late Kalman Dietrich of Dietrich Pianos in New York City before finally establishing The Pianotek Company in 1979. |
